For everything from residential to commercial buildings and from bridges to roads, we provide a broad range of gases solution, application technologies and supporting services to help you meet your productivity, quality and cost targets.
Our gas process technologies have already been proven in countless construction projects worldwide, supporting many different workflows such as concrete cooling, concrete curing, cryogenic ground freezing, HVAC installations, pipeline isolation, water treatment and metal fabrication. Our expertise spans all kinds of construction projects, including heavy machinary, offshore installations, pipelines, energey and process plants, as well as wind, wave and tidal energy systems.
Today we will focus on the application of low purity liquid nitrogen in cryogenic air separation in the construction industry.
Low purity liquid nitrogen is widely used in the construction industry, and its unique low temperature characteristics provide an effective solution for many aspects of the construction process. The following are the specific applications of liquid nitrogen in the construction industry:
Concrete cooling
Concrete cooling requirements can vary significantly from one project to another. They are also affected by external factors such as fluctuations in temperature and climate. Ready-mix concrete producers often need an effective cooling or booster solution so they can comply with defined concrete pouring temperatures for work on bridges, tunnels, foundations and similar works.
Ground freezing
Unstable soil and loose sediment can pose serious safety and operational challenges during underground and tunnelling work. The ground must be safely stabilized so it will not collapse during excavation and subsequent construction work. One way of achieving this is by freezing critical ground areas with liquid nitrogen (LN2).
Non-invasive pipeline freezing
To perform installation or maintenance work on pipeline systems, it is often necessary to drain the entire pipe and shut the system down completely. Freezing part of the pipeline can be a much faster, more efficient option, eliminating the need to shut down the entire system. Liquid nitrogen (LIN) cooling solutions with the enabling equipment and support services to facilitate this type of non-invasive pipe freezing for fast, efficient maintenance work.
Waste cleaning
Underground facilities and tunnel cleaning: When cleaning up dirt in underground facilities and tunnels, liquid nitrogen freezing construction method can quickly and reliably complete the task. Through the low temperature action of liquid nitrogen, the dirt is quickly frozen and becomes easy to clean, improving work efficiency and safety
Special formation treatment
Emergency water blocking and emergency treatment: Liquid nitrogen rapid freezing technology plays an important role in subway tunnel repair, emergency water blocking and emergency treatment. It can form a stable frozen soil curtain in a short time, effectively isolating groundwater and preventing the expansion of the situation.
Meteorological application
Cloud seeding and rain enhancement: Although this is not a direct construction industry application, liquid nitrogen is used in meteorological departments for cloud seeding and rain enhancement, which is also of great significance for improving construction conditions and ensuring construction progress on construction sites
