Sol India Pvt Ltd, a manufacturer and supplier of industrial and medical gases, will set up an integrated state-of-the-art gas production plant at SIPCOT, Ranipet at a cost of Rs 145 crore.
According to a Tamil Nadu government press release, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin laid the foundation stone for the new plant.
Sol India, formerly known as Sicgilsol India Pvt Ltd, is a 50:50 joint venture between Sicgil India Ltd and SOL SpA., an Italian global natural gas producer. Sol India is engaged in manufacturing and supplying medical, industrial, clean and specialty gases such as oxygen, nitrogen, argon, helium and hydrogen among others.
The company also designs, manufactures and supplies gas and bulk materials storage tanks, pressure reduction stations and centralized gas distribution systems.
According to the press release, the new production facility will produce liquid medical gases, technical oxygen, liquid nitrogen and liquid argon. The new plant will increase Sol India’s natural gas production capacity from 80 tonnes per day to 200 tonnes per day, it said.
